Access Point – Device Overview

This page provides a complete overview of a specific access point, including its location, operational status, traffic overview, and hardware details.
It helps administrators monitor health, troubleshoot issues, and manage the device.

Top Header Section

Access Point Identification

  • Device Name: Name of the device

  • Device Type: Access Point

  • MAC Address: Unique hardware identifier of the AP

  • Serial Number: Manufacturer-assigned device ID

  • Status Indicator:

  • DOWN (Red) – The access point is currently offline or unreachable

  • UP (GREEN) - The access point is currently online.


Map View

This section shows the geographical location of the access point using Google Maps.

Purpose

  • Visualize where the AP is physically installed

  • Useful for large or multi-site deployments


Traffic Overview (Top Graph)

This section displays real-time and historical traffic data for the access point.

Controls

  • Live – Shows real-time traffic

  • Choose Date Range – View historical traffic

  • All / Upload / Download – Filter traffic direction

  • Upload

  • Download

These tabs allow navigation between different device views:

  • Device Properties (currently selected)

  • Location

  • Clients

  • Channel Utilization

  • Events

  • Analytics


  1. Device Properties

This section provides detailed technical information about the access point.


  1. Information Panel

Contains basic administrative details:

  • Name – Editable device name

  • Device Tags – Used for grouping and filtering devices

  • External GUID – Unique global identifier

  • Notes – Admin-defined comments or documentation

  • Configure Properties
    Modify device settings.

  • Diagnostics
    Run troubleshooting tests (ping, logs, etc.).

  • Reboot
    Restart the access point remotely.


  1. Wired Interface

Shows the status of the physical Ethernet uplink used by the AP.


  1. Radio Section

Displays configuration status for the wireless radios(2.4GHz and 5GHz) on the access point.

  1. Hardware Properties

Provides device-specific hardware information.

Fields Explained

  • MAC Address
    Unique hardware address of the access point’s network interface.

  • Model
    Hardware model identifier of the access point.

  • Serial Number
    Manufacturer-assigned unique serial number.

  • Build / Version
    Firmware or software version currently installed on the device.

  • Capabilities
    Indicates supported features such as wireless standards and radio capabilities.

Displays SSIDs currently active on the device:

  • SSID Name

  • Band (2.4 GHz / 5 GHz)
