Overview

The Inventory List page provides a centralized view of all devices (APs/Router's) added to the Pronto Networks Cloud Controller.
It allows administrators to monitor device status, firmware details, network assignment, and perform bulk operations.

Navigation

Path:
Configure → Inventory List

Inventory List – Column Description

Search

The Search option allows administrators to quickly locate devices within the inventory.

  • Supports search by:

    • Device Name

    • MAC Address

    • Serial Number

    • External GUID

    • Tags

    • Network Name

  • Search results are updated in real time as text is entered.

  • Helps in fast identification of devices in large deployments.

Status

  • Indicates the current connectivity state of the device with the cloud.

  • Possible values:

    • UP (Green) – Device is online and communicating with the controller

    • DOWN (Red) – Device is offline or not reachable

MAC Address

  • Unique hardware MAC address of the device.

  • Acts as the primary identifier in the cloud.

  • Clicking the MAC typically opens the device detail view page, This page provides real-time status, configuration visibility, and diagnostics for the selected device.

Name

  • User-defined device name.

  • Helps in easy identification (e.g., location-based naming).

  • If not renamed, MAC address may be shown as default.

Serial

  • Displays the device serial number

  • Used for inventory tracking and support purposes.

Firmware Version

  • Shows the currently running firmware on the device.

  • Helps identify:

    • Version mismatches

    • Upgrade requirements

Last Seen Time

  • Displays the last time the device successfully communicated with the cloud.

  • Useful for:

    • Identifying offline duration

    • Troubleshooting connectivity issues

Activated On

  • Date when the device was first activated in the cloud.

  • Helps in lifecycle and deployment tracking.

Network Name

  • Indicates the network to which the device is currently assigned.

  • Device inherits all configurations from this network:

    • SSIDs

    • Security policies

    • RF settings

Note: A device can belong to only one network at a time.

Tags

  • Optional labels applied to devices.

  • Used for:

    • Filtering

    • Grouping

    • Bulk operations

Tags do not affect device behavior.

External GUID

  • Optional external identifier.

  • Used for integration with third-party systems (OSS/BSS, CRM, automation).

Global Actions

Add Inventory

  • Opens the Add Inventory page.

  • Used to add new devices into the controller.

Bulk Actions (Inventory List)

The Bulk Actions option in the Inventory List allows administrators to perform mass operations on selected devices (APs/Router's) from a single interface.

To access:

  • Select one or more devices using the checkbox

  • Click Bulk Actions from the top-right corner

A side panel opens with the following options.

Add or Remove Device Tags

Allows adding or removing tags for multiple devices simultaneously.

  • Multiple tags can be selected or created.

  • Tags are applied only to the selected devices.

  • Useful for grouping devices by:

    • Location

    • Deployment phase

    • Customer or site

Note: Device tags are for organization and filtering only and do not affect device behavior.

Add to Existing Network

Moves the selected device(s) to an existing network.

  • Select Network – Choose the target network.

  • Device Configuration (Copy Device Configuration)

    • When enabled, existing device-level configuration is retained.

    • When disabled, device inherits configuration from the target network.

Click Update to apply changes.

Important:

  • A device can belong to only one network at a time.

  • Network reassignment triggers configuration re-application.

Add to New Network

Creates a new network and assigns the selected device(s) to it.

  • Network Name – Enter a unique name for the new network.

  • Devices are automatically moved to the newly created network.

This is useful for:

  • Isolating devices

  • Creating new deployments quickly

Remove from Inventory

Removes the selected device(s) completely from the controller inventory.

  • Device is no longer managed by the cloud.

  • This action is irreversible.

Warning:

  • Device must be re-added manually to manage it again.

  • Use with caution in production environments.

Remove from Network

Unassigns the selected device(s) from the current network.

When a device is removed from a network, it is unassigned from that network but continues to operate with the last applied configuration from the previous network.

  • SSIDs, radio settings, and policies remain active on the device.

  • No new configuration changes are pushed while the device is unassigned.

  • The device stops inheriting updates from the previous network.

The existing configuration remains in effect until the device is assigned to another network, at which point the new network configuration is applied.

Important: Removing a device from a network does not reset or clear its configuration automatically.

Important: Removing from Network vs Removing from Inventory

  • Remove from Network → Device stays in inventory

  • Remove from Inventory → Device is deleted from controller
