Init Templates
Overview
The Init Templates feature allows administrators to create predefined uplink configuration templates that can be applied to devices during initialization or provisioning.
These templates help automate device configuration and ensure consistent settings across multiple deployments.
Init Templates are commonly used to configure:
Uplink settings
Uplink Type: WIred, LTE
Uplink Name
Primary or Secondary
IP Type: Static/DHCP
Note: Initial Template will use the current uplink configuration of selected device to use it as template.
Accessing Init Templates
To manage initialization templates:
Navigate to Configuration and Init Template
Open the Init Templates section.
The List of Init Templates page will display all existing templates.
From this page administrators can:
Create new templates
View template details
Delete templates
List of Init Templates
The List of Init Templates page displays all configured templates.
The table includes the following columns:
Column | Description |
Name | Name of the initialization template |
Type | Template configuration type |
Action | Options to view or delete the template |
Actions
Show
Displays the configuration details of the template.
Delete
Removes the template from the system.
Creating a New Init Template
To create a new template:
Click + Add Init Template.
The Init Template – New page will open.
Enter the required configuration details.
Click Create to save the template.
Init Template Configuration Fields
Name
This field specifies the name of the initialization template.
It should clearly describe the purpose of the template.
Example:
Primary Uplink Template
Type
The Type field defines what type of configuration the template represents.
Example available option:
Type | Description |
Uplink | Template used to configure device uplink settings |
Additional types may appear depending on system configuration.
Device
This field specifies the device model or device category that the template will apply to.
Only compatible devices can use the selected template.
Applying an Init Template to Devices
After creating a template, it can be applied to devices through the Inventory section.
Steps to Apply a Template
Navigate to the Inventory page.
Select one or more devices using the checkbox.
Click Apply Uplink Template.
Select the desired template from the dropdown list.
Apply the configuration.
Example:
Apply Uplink Template → test
The selected template will then be applied to the chosen devices.
Additional Inventory Actions
Administrators can also perform additional operations from the inventory toolbar.
Action | Description |
Add to Network | Assign selected devices to a network |
Tags | Add or manage device tags |
Remove | Remove devices from inventory |
Apply Uplink Template | Apply a selected initialization template to devices |
