Generate Token Access – Configuration & Concept Guide (Pronto Cloud)

1️⃣ Purpose

This document explains how to generate temporary access tokens in Pronto Cloud Controller (PCC) to allow another user or support engineer to securely access your organization account for a limited time.

This feature is mainly used for:

  • Temporary troubleshooting access

  • Vendor / support access

  • Delegated administration

  • Secure remote assistance

2️⃣ Scope

This guide applies to:

  • Organization administrators managing Pronto Cloud networks

  • Support engineers requiring temporary access

  • Multi-tenant or managed service environments

  • Situations where sharing login credentials is not permitted

3️⃣ Concept Overview

Access Tokens provide time-bound login capability without sharing the main account password.

Key characteristics:

  • Token is temporary

  • Token has configurable validity period

  • Token can be manually expired anytime

  • Token access is limited to organization scope

  • Token improves security and audit control

4️⃣ Steps to Generate Token

Step 1: Navigate to Token Page

Go to:

Configure → Organization → Generated Tokens List

Step 2: Generate New Token

  1. Click “Generate New Token” button (top right).

  2. Select Validity Duration (Hours)

Available options typically include:

  • 2 Hours

  • 8 Hours

  • 12 Hours

  • 24 Hours

  • Lifetime Access

Click “Generate Token”

System will create a unique token ID.

Step 3: View Active Tokens

Under Active Tokens List, you can:

  • View Token ID

  • Check validity duration

  • See generation date/time

  • Manually Expire Token

  • Delete Token

Step 4: Expired Tokens Management

Expired tokens are listed under Expired Tokens List.

From here you can:

  • Review previously created tokens

  • Delete old tokens for cleanup

5️⃣ How Another User Uses the Token

To allow external user access:

External user logs into their own PCC account

Navigate to:

Organization →configure→ Assume User

Enter provided Token ID

Click Assume User

They will now get temporary access to your organization network.

6️⃣ Security Best Practices

  • Never share permanent credentials

  • Always use minimum required validity

  • Expire token immediately after troubleshooting

  • Monitor token usage activity

  • Avoid lifetime tokens unless absolutely required
