1. Overview
The Bulk Firmware Upgrade feature allows administrators to upgrade firmware for multiple devices across one or more networks simultaneously. Administrators can either perform the upgrade immediately or schedule it for a later time, making firmware management faster and more efficient.

2. Prerequisites
Before performing a bulk firmware upgrade, ensure that:
The devices are online and reachable.
Devices have a stable internet connection.
The target firmware version is available.
You have Administrator privileges.
Devices have sufficient power throughout the upgrade.
3. Navigate to Bulk Firmware Upgrade
Log in to the NOC Dashboard.
From the left navigation panel, click Firmware.
Select the Network Upgrade tab.

Description
The Network Upgrade page allows administrators to select one or more networks and perform firmware upgrades on all supported devices within those networks.
4. Select Networks
Select the required network(s) from the Network Name dropdown.
Optionally filter by:
Device Type
Firmware Version (No need to do anything here )
Select the desired network(s) using the checkboxes.

Description
The selected networks will be highlighted, and the total number of selected networks will be displayed. Only selected networks will be included in the upgrade process.
5. Schedule Upgrade
After selecting the required networks, click the Schedule Upgrades button.

Description
The Bulk Schedule Upgrades page groups devices by their device type. Each section displays:
Device Type
Selected Networks
Current Firmware Version
Target Firmware Version
6. Select Target Firmware Version
For each device type:
Review the Current Firmware Version.
Click the Target Firmware Version dropdown.
Select the firmware version to which the devices should be upgraded.
Verify the readiness status.
If required, click View List to see the devices included in that device type.

Description
The system performs a pre-upgrade validation. When validation is successful, a green status message appears:
All devices ready for upgrade
This confirms that the selected devices are eligible for firmware upgrade.
7. Configure Upgrade Schedule
After selecting the firmware versions, choose how the upgrade should be performed.
Option 1 – Perform Upgrade Now
Select Perform Upgrade Now to begin the firmware upgrade immediately after saving.
Option 2 – Schedule the Upgrade
Select Schedule the Upgrade For to perform the upgrade at a future date and time.
Configure:
Time Zone
Date
Time
After completing the required fields, click Save Changes.

Description
The schedule section provides flexibility to either perform the upgrade immediately or schedule it for a planned maintenance window.
Important Notes
Firmware upgrades typically take 10–15 minutes per device.
Devices are upgraded in the following order:
Access Points
Switches
Routers
Offline devices will automatically begin upgrading once they reconnect.
Do not power off or disconnect devices during the upgrade process.
Ensure devices remain connected to the internet until the upgrade completes.
13. Viewing Upgrade History
Navigate to:
Firmware → Most Recent Upgrades
The Most Recent Upgrades page provides a history of the latest firmware upgrades performed across the network. It allows administrators to verify whether the upgrade was completed successfully.
The table displays the following information:
Device Name – Name of the upgraded device.
MAC Address – Unique hardware address of the device.
Device Type – Type of network device (Router, Switch, Access Point, etc.).
Firmware Version – Displays both the previous firmware version and the upgraded firmware version.
Last Upgraded – Indicates when the firmware upgrade was completed.
Firmware Status – Displays the result of the upgrade, such as Success or Failed.
Expected Result
After saving the configuration:
The firmware upgrade is scheduled successfully or starts immediately (depending on the selected option).
Devices begin upgrading according to the selected schedule.
Upgrade progress and status can be monitored from the Most Recent Upgrades section.
Once completed, devices will report the newly installed firmware version.
Best Practices
Verify all devices are online before scheduling an upgrade.
Ensure devices have a stable internet connection.
Upgrade during a maintenance window to reduce service disruption.
Confirm the target firmware is compatible with all selected devices.
Review the release notes before selecting a firmware version.
Monitor upgrade status after scheduling.
Validate device connectivity and functionality once the upgrade completes.
